The story behind the Spicy Dip Guys and Atomic Blue:
PART 1: 1982 - 1993
The Founders met at Grafflin Elementary School in New York. By Bell Middle School and Horace Greeley High School they were a group of inseparable guys. They did everything together. Backyard football, pick-up basketball, matinee movies, and more! As you can imagine, these boys ate a lot. Whether it was Italian combos from Buetis in Mt. Kisco, bacon egg and cheeses from Rocky's in Millwood, or the best pizza around at Marios in Chappaqua; they loved it all. Ketchup, mayo and mustard were always available and often used. However, the one thing they could never find was the cool but fiery condiment that gave each meal the ideal kick. So, they went out and made it. They carefully crafted a mix of condiments and spices, and that was the birth of Atomic Blue. 1993. The Rangers were one year away from their Stanley Cup and the Knicks were still, and would continue to be, one step behind the Chicago Bulls.
PART 2: Fast-forward 2010-2011
Nearly 20 years passed. The group of guys were still best friends and decided they were tired of simply reminiscing about Atomic Blue. The flavor concept, the name….it was too much of a good thing and needed to be launched! A few of the guys had landed in California, and so the childhood friends from New York established Go West Ventures, LLC (GWV) – naming their company after Horace Greeley’s famous words, “Go West, Young Man.” They also set out to convert their kitchen recipe into a commercialized formula. With everyone having full time jobs, GWV searched for a firm that could manufacture, package and sell Atomic Blue in portion control units and have the global distribution channels to service franchises, convenience stores, stadiums, and universities.
AND NOW...2012:
GWV has partnered with Kagome (www.kagomeusa.com) to bring you Atomic Blue Dip! The product will be available for purchase in July. This group of New York guys can't wait for you to try it!
